Kasa Moto

Updated: Feb 18

Kasa Moto has been on our list to go eat for quite some time now. The restaurant fits both large and small groups and isn't too loud making it a great place for parties or date nights. The servers were very friendly, professional, and quick to attend to us whenever had any needs, questions, or concerns. It is a bit pricier but overall it was a great time with fantastic food and drinks. Would definitely recommend going to check it out sometime if you're in the area and are looking for a Japanese place to eat.

Tuna Tartar ($23)

Cucumber, avocado, triple crunch mustard, yuzu ponzu

  • The tuna tartar had such a beautiful presentation but unfortunately, it was slightly disappointing. It was very hard to notice that there was any yuzu and the tartar was bland and too fishy. (Yes it is fish, but it was the fishy taste you don't want in your food)

  • The chips, however, were great. When we first took a bite of them, we wanted to eat them more than the tartar. They were super crisp and thin and were 100% the star of this dish.

Kasa Moto Maki ($28)

Spicy shrimp, salmon, spicy scallop, tobiko, soy glaze

  • Favorite of the meal

  • The photo doesn't do the dish justice as there was a large amount of fish, and it was delicious. It came with 8 pieces and tasted very fresh.

  • The spicy shrimp and scallop had a small kick but as someone who can't take spice, this is not very spicy.

Wagyu Carpaccio ($24)

Wasabi aioli, pickle wasabi, truffle oil, arugula

  • If you are a big eater, this is not a dish that would be considered an appetizer, the portion of this dish is very small. The diameter is about 3-4 inches at most and it is very thin.

  • The dish was light and flavorful and seemed to have been prepared very well. The arugula was fresh and the truffle oil was noticeable but not overwhelming.

  • We definitely wish the portion was larger so we would be able to enjoy the dish longer and eat more of such a tasty appetizer.

Wagyu Skirt Steak 7oz ($48)

Togarashi chimichurri, nori citrus salt, charred lemon

  • We were looking forward to this dish but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The broccolini was very salty, when we took a bite it was eye-opening as to just how much salt was on it. The skirt steak was also very chewy and hard to bite through. As the dish was a wagyu skirt steak, we expected a lot more from the dish as a whole.

  • The star of this dish was surprisingly the potato. They were very flavorful and paired very well with the sauce.

  • For what we got, and the price we paid, we didn't think it was worth it. We were thinking about how we should have gotten 2 more 'Kasa Moto Makis' instead of the skirt steak.

Miso Caramel Sundae ($18)

Vanilla ice cream, miso caramel cake, crème fraîche

  • The presentation was very nice as well as the taste overall, from the crumble to the ice cream, it was super tasty. Everything about this dessert was positive except the rock-solid crust. The crust under the ice cream was extremely hard. Every time we tried to cut a slice out so that we had a bit of everything, it would make the crumble fly everywhere with the amount of force needed to get through it. We thought we were going to break the plate more than once.
