A Corner Cafe

Updated: Feb 19

We were pleased to find such a great place to hang out for coffee and for brunch. When we first entered it was almost completely full but luckily we were able to grab the last table. If you want to try it out, you should go early or book a table if possible to ensure you get a seat.

The cafe has free wifi as well as 60 - 80 board games that are free to play while you enjoy your meal or coffee. There are some books and puzzles as well also free to use. The only catch is that there is a seating time limit of 1 hour usually when it's busy but we were there for over an hour so it didn't seem like that rule was enforced too much.

Vietnamese Latte - Hot ($4.20)

  • Standard latte, nothing too special about it. We just got back from a trip to Vietnam so we were comparing the taste of this to an authentic Vietnamese latte and it tasted nothing like it. Seemed like just a regular latte. Still tasty though!

  • Hot is $4.20, cold is $4.70

Smoked Salmon Benny ($16)

Avocado spread, baby spinach, smoked salmon, poached eggs, hollandaise sauce

  • Most places I've had eggs bene typically ask me what style of egg I want, but this waitress did not. I've had bad experiences with places that overcook the egg when they don't ask so I had the same fear, but to my surprise the egg was perfect.

  • This eggs bene was one of the better ones I tried and would love to come back for it again.

  • They didn't smother the hollandaise sauce all over like some places do, and the avocado with the salmon was such a good pair as many know. The ratio of everything was perfect. Highly recommend this dish if you come for brunch.

Tofu Bowl ($14)

Egg tofu, sweet corn, seaweed salad, house-roasted veggies topped with a poached egg

  • You can substitute the rice it comes with for salad, we forgot to switch it

  • The tofu was delicious and prepared very well. Seared to perfection.

  • The combination of all the toppings mixed in with the rice and the poached egg was fantastic as well. Although we wish we got the salad instead, as there was a bit too much rice. The salad would have gone very well with the toppings but we will be back in the future to try it again.
